Injuries at restaurants can occur for many different reasons. One recent tragic case, for example, involved a five-year-old child who suffered fatal injuries in a revolving restaurant.
Young Boy Dies From Injuries Sustained at a Rotating Restaurant
The Sun reported on the tragic story of the young boy who was recently killed in the rotating restaurant. The family had selected the restaurant because they had been told it was a fun place for families with children to go. It provided an opportunity to both enjoy a nice meal while also enjoying the city skyline at the same time.
The child was at a window table with his parents in the rotating restaurant when he left. According to the family’s lawsuit, the boy and his family were walking along a path used by others without problems. The young boy was a few steps away from his parents and the lawsuit claims he did not see that there was a booth in the path that the family was walking.
Unfortunately, there was a five-inch gap between a stationary wall in the restaurant and the booth that was affixed to the restaurant’s floor. The restaurant’s floor spun around and the booth moved with it. The boy became trapped in this gap between the booth and the wall and as the restaurant rotated, he could not get out of the pinch point. The lawsuit alleges that the rotation did not stop when he was trapped between the table and wall and that there was no emergency button to stop it from rotating.
The parents of the young man claim they tried desperately to free their son, but they failed. The boy was trapped for approximately 30 minutes while rescuers worked to free him and unfortunately, he suffered severe brain injury during this time. The father of the young boy indicated he had actually heard the child’s skull crack before the rotation was able to be stopped. Tragically, the injuries suffered by the boy as he was crushed between the table and booth turned out to be fatal.
The parents of the child have filed a lawsuit against the restaurant, and it remains to be seen if they will be successful in obtaining compensation for the terrible loss they have endured. In any situation where a person is hurt or killed, victims should be certain to have a dedicated legal representative who can help them to pursue a claim for compensation.
